saying the words
I remember writing secret notes in my first diary, a small plastic pink and white Hello Kitty secret diary, with a lock (just incase). Because 6 year olds have secrets too~ and I’d hide it under my pink cotton bedspread.
For the longest time, writing things down has really helped me articulate and step toward many of my life visions and dreams and many of them have come to be. Its a really soul satisfying thing, to have what’s in your heart come to be manifest.
I wrote a digital book about this, ways to envision your future, called Future Self and it outlines ways to help you imagine what you’d like your future to look like and how to step into that.
This year, I’ve been imagining as I drift off to sleep, my dreams and visions. Rather than thinking about school, school sport, timetables and the rest I’ve turned toward what I want to create for my future. One step that’s kinda fun and a bit out of my comfort zone, is to speak it. Saying the words I feel, casts a spell. It takes dreams and wishes out of my mind and into the world.
For example I say ‘I’m wearing Jasmine Oil today’ aloud. And there’s a little magical sparkle that happens when I say it, its affirming this action. Our minds are so full, there’s so much to take in these days, we are literally assaulted once we wake up with the worlds demands. But to take a moment to confirm aloud to yourself, moments when you are actually living into a dream or a wish, is to send it home, aloud.
Creating our future isn’t something we are taught, and yet its what we do each day. We wake up, make plans and choices and day by day we create a life.
What kind of life are you creating?
